There's nothing better than parents endorsing the partner you have chosen and to top it all, you are so in love with the partner you are going to marry.
Flashback to the year 2011, Maggy had been invited to a friends wedding, whose cousin happened to be related to her husband Leyian. The wedding was happening in Loitoktok and they had to use the same bus to get to the wedding. She was drawn to his deep baritone voice and when he came inside the bus and she saw him, it was love at first sight.
They attended the wedding and everyone went their separate ways and they met again in 2016. After that meeting, they met every day since.
Maggie's father, Joseph agrees that they 'are a perfect match for each other". When they decided to make their relationship official, they were supported by both families.
The Rurachio
According to the Kamba custom, the grooms family hosts the ceremony in the brides home. The event was a meeting of two cultures and themed after the Masaai culture.
The negotiations ran smoothly and Leyian's family had to part with a seasoned bull worth Kshs20,000, 3 female cows worth Ksh45,000 and 18 goats.
The wedding ceremony
For the rings, the couple went for 18-carat gold rings. Maggie looked radiant as she walked down the aisle with both of her parents by her side. From when she was young, her dream was to get married and it is easy to see why she chocked with emotion during the exchange of vows. It was a spectacular wedding.
